There has been a lot of new and improved hearing aid technology released in 2017. As we move towards the end of the year, Signia have released their latest platform, the Signia Nx. The Signia Nx claims to ‘replicate nature’ with Signia’s development of ‘Own Voice Processing’ (OVP) for a natural ‘own voice’ experience.
OVP enables dynamic scanning and processing of the wearer’s own voice. The wearer’s own voice is identified and has its own unique programming, independent of other sounds (including other voices). This means that the Signia Nx can be fine tuned for optimal audibility of the acoustic environment without the need to make compromises in order to improve the sound quality of the user’s own voice. Common complaints of own voice echo and loudness can now be a thing of the past!
This new chip also includes an extended dynamic range, which is now on par with other manufacturers including Phonak, Oticon, Starkey and Widex. Signia’s extended dynamic range (113dB maximum input range) helps to improve the signal quality in loud environments.
The Signia Nx also has direct binaural connectivity for iPhones (for both phone calls and audiostreaming). Android phone users can still make use of the Signia Nx’s advanced features however, will require an additional accessory for streaming phone calls (the ‘StreamLine mic’ will be available in early 2018).
The ‘Streamline TV’ accessory allows for increased sound fidelity and listening ease when watching television programs.
All Signia Nx models are compatible with the myControl App (for Apple and Android phones), which can give you more flexibility and control regarding your listening experience. Telecare 3.0 is a relatively new inclusion to the Signia offerings and allows for remote fine tuning of your Signia Nx hearing devices.
This latest range from Signia is available in the 3Nx, 5Nx and 7Nx technology levels and is suitable for a broad variety of hearing loss severities (and budgets), client needs and goals.
The Signia Nx range will be available in all Value Hearing clinics from late November, 2017.
